“I would like to welcome you to the Town of Kenly, North Carolina. Our website is designed to acquaint you with the many ways in which your town government works to assist its residents, businesses and institutions and its visitors. Kenly is a full-service community, and we strive continually to improve the quality of the service we provide. We do appreciate your feedback and your suggestions as to how we can improve our performance. Please access the “Contact Us” link on the home page to share any questions or comments you might have with either me or any one of our staff.”
Michael Douglas, Town Manager
As Town Manager, I strive to keep the Council apprised of key Town issues, to seek their input and guidance on key operational decisions, to alert them to community needs as they arise, to provide support in strategic planning for the community, and to provide the Council with policy recommendations for their consideration and action. I present the Council with the annual proposed budget and capital improvement program, prepare all information required for the annual Town Retreat each year, and represent the Council in local, regional and statewide activities.
Kenly is a community that relies on local volunteers in many ways. In very large measure, our community is a wonderful place in which to live and work due to the hundreds of hours that our dedicated volunteers lend to assist their community.
Whether by serving on a local board or commission, helping to organize community activities, coaching in our local recreation programs, working for our local elections, or serving on the board of any one of a number of local organizations, the Kenly community benefits immensely from many generous people. This is an example of a small North Carolina community at its finest – family oriented, active, healthy, and multi-faceted…also known as Friendly Kenly!
So let us know what you might like to do to help Kenly continue to be a wonderful place to live, work and visit. Reach out to us, by email or by phone. Please feel free to email me or by phone.”
