The Town of Kenly is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to serve as Code Enforcement / Animal Control Officer. This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, and at least one year of work experience involving a high level of public contact including some experience dealing with the public in an enforcement, inspection, investigation, or customer service capacity. Experience in enforcement of municipal codes is highly desirable. Responsibilities will include performing a variety of field and office work in support of the local code enforcement program including, but not limited to, field investigations, inspection of properties for violations, written and oral communication with property owners, issuing citations as necessary, maintaining records and case files, preparing reports and correspondence, chasing animals and removing animals from properties. This position will start on July 1, 2019. Salary is $33,000 – $35,000 per year with full benefits. Position is open until filled.
